Controversy in CSMC elections; newly elected corporator among 4 booked
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Satara police registered a case against the newly elected Corporator and three others for fighting on the streets due to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) election dispute.
It may be noted that the incident took place on Beed Bypass on January 28. This action was taken against newly elected corporator Munshi Bhikan Patel, Moin Rahim Shaikh, Salim Patel Borgaonkar, and Mujeeb Habib Shaikh.
A scuffle broke out between two groups in front of a hotel on Beed Bypass at 2 pm on January 28, due to the CSMC election dispute.
Satara police immediately rushed to settle the dispute between them. The police had given them a medical memo and called them to lodge a complaint.
However, none of them appeared at the Satara Police Station on Thursday to lodge a complaint. PSI Nand Kumar Bhandare went to the hospital and tried to record the statement.
The injured person denied the complaint, stating that their condition was unstable. A case was registered against the four on the complaint of police constable Santosh Pandit.
