Aurangabad, Jan 14:

The biggest ever vaccination is beginning from January on 16 to overcome Novel coronavirus across the country. The vaccine will be administered in the district also.

However, there is constant confusion over the number of vaccine centres in the district for the past three days.

The health machinery announced on January 13 that there would be 18 centres on the first of the drive while their number was reduced to 13 on Wednesday.

Now, the vaccines would be administered to the health officers and employees at ten centres, as per the information from the health department. This has raised doubt over the preparations for the campaign.

In the ten centres list, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was also included. Additional district health officer and vaccination officer Dr Vijay Wagh said that there would be ten vaccination centres instead of 13.

In the city, vaccines would be administered to doctors and health employees at health centres of N-8, N-11, Bhimnagar, Sadadatnagar and Bansilalnagar while in rural, it is at the primary health centre at Palod, sub-district hospitals at Vaijapur, Sillod and Pachod. District health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke said that GMCH was included in the list instead of Gangapur sub-district hospital.

Deputy director of health services Dr Swapnil Lale said that the number of centres was reduced to ten from 18 as per the Central Government guidelines.
