CSMC to withdraw cases against 48 election employees
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
During the municipal corporation elections, various government officials and employees were assigned election duties. Cases had been registered at the City Chowk police station against 155 absent employees. However, 48 of these employees had been assigned to election work at other locations, and the municipal corporation has now decided to withdraw the cases against them.
These employees had been absent during the first and second election training sessions. Although the administration had issued ‘show cause’ notices to 800 personnel, 155 employees failed to report for duty, leading to cases being filed against them. Later, those against whom cases were registered submitted proof to the municipal administration showing where they were deployed for work. Some also cited difficulties faced during the assignments. After investigating all these matters, the administration decided to withdraw the cases against 48 employees.
