Cyber fraudsters demand money by making fake facebook accounts of several including Dr Purushottam Bhapkar

Aurangabad, June 2:

The cyber fraudsters are demanding money to the friends of the prominent personalities by making their fake facebook accounts. They have made fake accounts of former divisional commissioner Dr Purushottam Bhapkar, retired teacher Gani Patel and president of the Ophthalmologists Association Mahesh Vaishnav. The information came to fore on Wednesday.

The cyber fraudsters are duping the people through face book and other social media platforms. The cheaters made fake account of former divisional commissioner Dr Bhapkar and then asked for money to his friends. They asked one of his friends to send Rs 15,000. Bhapkar knew about it and he appealed his friends in his friend list that the account is fake and no one should respond to it. Similarly, the fake accounts of Dr Gani Patel and Dr Vaishnav were also made and money was demanded to their friends. When they came to know about it, they lodged complaints at the cyber police station.

Meanwhile, PI of cyber police station, Geeta Bagwade said that the facebook users should secure their accounts. They should use profile guard so that no one can misuse the information and the photos from the account. Friend requests of the unknown persons should not be accepted, she said.
