Aurangabad, March 22:

District Collector Sunil Chavan, on Monday in a meeting, warned the private hospitals that legal action will be taken against them if the beds are not provided to the serious Corona patients.

The Corona patients are on the rise in the district. The administration is facing the dearth of beds for the serious patients. The hospitals have accommodated the beds for the patients with mild symptoms. Hence, Chavan warned the hospitals that beds should be made available for serious patients. A four-member committee will take a review of the patients in the hospitals. If the beds are occupied by the patients with mild symptoms, strict action will be taken against the hospitals, Chavan said.

Owing to the increased number of patients, the administration is giving preference to made beds available for the patients and provide them better treatment. The committee will inquire whether the patients have been admitted in the hospitals according to the norms. Each person from the police, municipal corporation, health department and district administration has been included in the committee, Chavan said.

The patients with mild symptoms and who can be treated at the Covid Care Centres (CCC) should not be admitted in the hospitals, so that the beds can be available for the serious patients. If such patients are found during the inspection, action will be taken, he said.

Municipal commissioner, Astik Kumar Pandey said that the kits required for the Corona testing will be provided by the corporation as per the demand. The concerned officers were informed in the meeting about the measures to be adopted for restricting the spread of Corona Virus.
