Aurangabad, Jan 6:

The District Civil Hospital )DCH) is vacant almost after nine months as not a single Corona patient being treated here at present. Moreover, both the reports of the only patient who returned from Britain were negative and hence he was given discharge. It is for the first time that not a single new patient has been admitted at DCH now, informed the district civil surgeon Dr Sundar Kulkarni.

After the outburst of Corona, the DCH was transformed into the Covid Hospital last March. Only Corona patients were being treated here for the past nine months. A decision was taken to admit the patient infected by the new Stain Corona virus here. Hence, a 29 years old man returned from Britain was admitted since December 27. His swab sample was collected on Monday and on Tuesday his report was negative. Similarly, his second report received on Wednesday was also negative. Hence, he was given discharge.

The number of Corona patients declined in the past few days. The preparation for the vaccination drive is also in the final stages. Hence, it is likely that the OPD may be started at DCH again, the sources said.
