In shocking turn of events, a 23-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his own friends. This incident occurred on Tuesday, April 21, night at Kargil Maidan, under the Pundaliknagar police station limits. According to a TOI report, this act occurred two hours after posting a photograph with them on social media.

Police stated Rohit Mhaske's murder to a long-standing feud. Mhaske, also known as Karan, had a criminal record with seven cases, including robbery, registered against him. The accused also have prior criminal records and a history of animosity with the victim. The investigation revealed that Akshay Padul and his accomplices – Sagar Ghule, Prafull Pakhare, Sheikh Badshah Sheikh Baba, Shoaib Javed Sheikh, and Krishna Udavant – lured Mhaske to Kargil Maidan on Tuesday night.

After socializing and taking pictures, one of which Mhaske posted online, the group fatally attacked him with sharp weapons within two hours. Crime branch inspector Gajanan Kalyankar stated the murder was premeditated and stemmed from prior conflicts.

Following the incident, police arrested five of the six accused. A manhunt is underway for Padul, the main conspirator, who remains at large. Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar stated that both the victim and the accused had criminal records, suggesting the killing stemmed from a long-standing feud. He added that multiple teams are pursuing the absconding suspect and that all those involved will face severe consequences.
