Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Devotees were deeply moved on the third day of the ‘Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Katha’ being organised at Iskcon VECC Temple on Sunday, as the childhood leelas of lord Shri Ram were narrated in an enchanting manner.
Thousands of devotees present at the venue were spellbound by the powerful and emotional discourse delivered by Lal Govind Das. The entire pandal echoed with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and devotional bhajans. Prabhuji elaborately explained the significance of ‘Purushottam Maas’ (Adhik Maas). He said the sacred month, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, is considered especially auspicious for penance, charity, service and devotion to God. He also highlighted the importance of reciting the 30 chapters composed by Vyasji. Through simple yet impactful words, he explained the values of dharma, service and values, while describing how Lord Shri Ram, even during his childhood, conveyed the message of discipline, humility and an ideal way of life through his conduct. The narration of Ahalya’s redemption through the touch of Shri Ram’s feet turned emotional, leaving many devotees in tears inside the katha mandap. On Monday (May 18), Prabhuji will narrate the episode of Janaki Vivah. The discourse is being held daily from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
