Aurangabad, May 19:

The strength of Covid-19 active patients is dropping in the city as around 800 patients are undergoing treatment in nine Covid Care Centres (CCCs). The AMC had started 21 CCC having facilities of 3,938 beds, but due to a drop in patients, it was forced to close down 12 CCCs.

It may be noted that 174 patients, on Tuesday, had been detected in the city. The 12 CCCs which had been closed down include Government Polytechnic, PES Engineering College, Yeshwant Hostel and Chhatrapati Hostel - BAMU, Deogiri Boys Hostel, Deogiri Girls Hostel, Divisional Sports Complex, Government B.Ed College's Boys Hostel, Government B.Ed College's Girls Hostel, Government Institute of Science Hostel, Sant Tukaram Hostel and Shreyas Engineering College.

According to the civic health department, the status of patients in each CCC is as follows: Meltron - 268, MIT Boys Hostel - 1, MIT Boys Hostel - 170, EOC, Padampura - 23, Social Welfare Boys Hostel, Kile Ark - 43, Government Engineering College Hostel - 41, CSMSS, Kachanwadi - 56, CIPET - 160 and Ramai Hostel, Bamu - 18.
