Aurangabad, June 17:

South Central Railway’s Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) members on Thursday inspected the facilities at the Mukundwadi and Aurangabad railway stations. The members were astonished by the problems at the Mukundwadi railway station. The lack of wheel chairs, police chowki, unorderly commuting of the passengers, lack of safety measures dragged the attention of the members. In the backdrop of the DRUCC meeting of the Nanded division to be held on July 6, the members reviewed the facilities at the railway stations. Members Syed Abdul Rahman, Vijay Jaiswal, president of the Marathwada Railway, Vikas Samiti Omprakash Varma, and others were present. The women from the nearby localities told the committee members about the problems at the Mukundwadi police station. People commute dangerously on the railway tracks, and hence there is a need for a pedestrian bridge, they demanded. The members, after inspection, submitted a memorandum to the divisional manager through the station superintendent demanding a bridge, police chowki, wheelchairs, and other facilities for the residents.
