Ex-Election Commissioner to hold talks with former corporators today

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Former State Election Commissioner J S Saharia will hold talks with a few former corporators at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) headquarters, at 3 pm, on February 17.

The discussions will be conducted about the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections. Due to this, the hopes of aspirants have been brightened.

Discussions will be held with the public representatives. This discussion will be in line with the upcoming municipal elections. Therefore, there are aspirants to contest elections.

There has been no corporator in the CSMC since April 2020. Even after the five-year period, there is no possibility of elections. The Election Commission has made the civic body prepare the ward structure twice in five years, Suggestions and objections were also invited about it.

Even after that, the election date has not been fixed. Every year, leaders give orders to the aspirants to start working for the election to be held soon. Those who are interested in the elections have often prepared. Since the money is being spent, many have even stopped preparing.

Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Election Department Rahul Suryavanshi sent a letter to seven former corporators on Saturday.

It was stated in the letter that Former State Election Commissioner Saharia would discuss with the public representatives at 3 pm, on Monday.
