Aurangabad, April 22:
The Aurangabad Pattern of distributing Remdesivir injections directly to the hospitals, rather than the medical shops, by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) is being implemented now all over the state. FDA took the decision after it came to notice that the injections were being sold at high prices in the black market and people from surrounding places were are arriving in the city to procure the injections for their patients or shifting their patients to the city hospitals.
The FDA joint commissioner Sanjay Kale, Milind Kaleshwarkar, drug inspector R M Bajaj, Varsha Mahajan, and others are making hard efforts to ensure smooth distribution of the injection and all patients could get it during the emergency. The FDA focussed on supplying the injection to the hospitals so that the needy patients could get it at an appropriate cost. Presently, the team is struggling to overcome the shortage of injections.
It has come to notice that the Covid patients from Ahmednagar, Chalisgaon, Dhulia, Rahuri, Puntamba, and other places were being shifted in the city hospitals just for Remdesivir injection. The District Civil Hospital also confirmed the admission of patients from outstations.
The FDA joint commissioner Sanjay Kale said, " We had focussed on supplying the Remdesivir injection directly to the hospitals instead of medicine shops. This is the reason why the situation came under control. The system is now implemented everywhere in the state. Patients from Ahmednagar, Dhulia, Rahuri, and other places were being shifted in our city hospitals for want of this injection."
