Aurangabad, March 23:

There is a partial relief to the vehicle-owners as the fuel prices are stable for the past 24 days. Earlier, the customers feared that petrol prices would cross the figure of Rs 100 per litre.

The prices of fuel had increased on 14 days during the last month. It is now sold in the city for Rs 98.71 per litre (petrol) and Rs 89.74 per litre (diesel). The power petrol is sold for Rs 102.17 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol companies seem to be making efforts to control prices for the past 24 days.

The government was criticised for a frequent hike in fuel prices. The elections are announced in five states. It seems that the prices remain unchanged (stable) to avoid impact on the election results, said the city petrol pump-operators.

"Earlier, the prices of petrol-diesel were stable during the Bihar elections," said the secretary of Petrol Pump Association, Akhil Abbas.
