Aurangabad, Oct 27:

The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has started non-Covid OPD service to attend Covid patients, who after recovering the ailments, complained of feeling exhausted, having joint pains, fall shortness of breath etc.

The out-patient department (OPD) service has started in GMCH''s Department of Medicine (DoM). There is a possibility that some persons could face mild trouble after getting recovered, said the dean Dr Kanan Yelikar.

The associate professor (in DoM) Dr Gajanan Surwade, who also head''s the non-Covid section, said, " The Covid patients stay for at least ten days in the hospital during the treatment. After going home, he feels exhausted, short of breath, joint pains etc. The department received such complaints in the past few days. It has come to our notice that this happens when the immunity amongst some patients is low. Hence, we are guiding such persons on diet maintenance. Accordingly, we are also treating them to maintain harmony in the functioning of the body."

Some changes have been observed in lungs amongst a few Covid-19 patients. Hence, when the patients are contacting GMCH, we are conducting their CT Scan or X-ray. The hospital is identifying the abnormalities and is studying upon them.
