Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The indefinite strike launched by around 16,000 government and semi-government employees across 35 departments in the district from Tuesday, April 21, over pending demands, was suspended at 8 pm on April 24. As Saturday and Sunday were weekly holidays, normal government functioning is set to resume smoothly from Monday, April 27.

During the past week, government offices across the district and city remained largely deserted. Several online meetings were conducted from the Mantralay during the strike period, leading to increased pressure on officers. Providing departmental data in these meetings also became difficult, as clerical staff responsible for compiling data were on strike and unavailable in offices. This led to considerable frustration among officials.

Out of 1,012 employees in the District Collector’s office, 836 participated in the strike. The office functioned with only 145 officers and staff, resulting in delays and disruption of services for common citizens.
