HC rejects plea challenging one of the conditions in medical admissions

Aurangabad, Nov 11:

Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court rejected the petition filed by a student challenging one of the conditions laid down in medical admission process.

As per the 4.5 point in the admissions process, a candidate should pass SSC from the State to be eligible to apply for the medical courses admissions.

A student Meghavi Biyani filed a petition in the HC challenging the condition. The bench comprising Justice S P Deshmukh and Justice S D Kulkarni observed that the Supreme Court held valid the Assam Government’s decision of passing 7th to 12th class from the State to be eligible for medical admissions.

The court rejected the petition and refused to interfere in the State Government decision. Senior lawyer Rajendra Deshmukh represented the petitioner while advocates N R Daima, Devang Deshmukh and Govind Kulkarni assisted him. Adv Mrugesh Narwadkar appeared for the CET Cell. Assistant Government pleader Atul Kale represented the Government.
