Aurangabad, April 28:

After the imposition of severe restriction by the Government to control the Covid pandemic, the daily number of patients is reducing considerably. Still, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and oxygen beds in the private hospitals in the city are occupied to its capacities while very few beds are available in the hospitals in the city.

A few days back, a severe scarcity of oxygen was felt in the district as the supply was less than the demand. However, this situation has been receded now and ample amount of oxygen is available in the district, the sources said.

Moreover, the ICU, Oxygen and Non-ICU-Oxygen beds are almost full in the major city hospitals. The president of the Marathwada Hospitals Association, Dr Himanshu Gupta said, the hospitals are not facing the oxygen shortage now, but the beds in the hospitals are not available as most the hospitals are full. Many hospitals have made arrangement for the daily oxygen requirement and also made some stand-by facility available, he said.
