Aurangabad, Oct 25:

Illegal plotting has been established in the green zone lands around the city. Police have not paid attention to the builders and agent selling plots secretly. Some officers at the registry office are helping the land mafia for the plots'' registry and notary. As the police have neglected these transactions, plots are being sold illegally in the city openly.

More than 100 builders and agents have established plotting at Padegaon, Mitmitta, New Pahadsinghpura, Rozabaug, Harsul Lake area, Jadhavwadi, Naregaon, Ambedkarnagar Road, Chikalthana, Beed By-pass, Paithan Road and other places. However, not planning for wide roads, schools, ground, hospitals, and other facilities have been done while planning the plotting. Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has become financially weak while providing civic facilities in the localities. Still, the land mafia sells the plot without considering the impact in the future. Newly appointed, commissioner of police, Dr Nikhil Gupta diverted his attention on these plot transactions and it was restricted to some extent. Still, plots are being sold due to the patronage of an officer at Registry office.

Similarly, notaries are done without verifying the documents. AMC is losing huge revenue due to illegal plotting. More than 1500 plots have been registered illegally in the past few months, and Rs 5,000 is charged for each registry. More than 30 notaries are done every day, the sources said.
