Investment in human capital is foundation of development

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “If the development plan of any country is inclusive and employment-oriented, then this becomes the fundamental of foundation for the development of a country,” said Dr Vilas Khandare, president of Marathi Arthshastra Parishad.

He was speaking in a seminar on 'Union Budget' organised at the Economics Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Wednesday. Economist and labour leader Devidas Tuljapurkar was the chief guest. Head of the Department Dr Ashok Pawar presided over the seminar.

Dr Vilas Khandare said the budget should have provisions for employment growth. “It is not enough to just mention the agriculture sector, rather, the agriculture sector should be given a modern form and employment generation should be increased in it. However, no mention of MSP is seen in the budget,” he said. Devidas Tuljapurkar also spoke.
