Aurangabad, May 19:
Parents are upset after the Maharashtra Public School administration decided to shut down standard 9th and 10th of State Board syllabus.
The school, which is located at Daultabad, asked parents to collect Transfer Certificate (TC)
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) district organiser Sandeep Kulkarni said that they would support the struggle against the school.
Parents appealed to MNS district president Suhas Dashrate for help. MNS State secretary Subhash Meher, Biju Marak, Sandeep Kulkarni, Ashok Mhaske Patil, Machhindra More, Sagar Kute, Aniket Thokal, Nagesh Deshmukh, Rajesh Ingel said the schools should not close both the standards.
MNS informed the school management that they would struggle with parents if the school tries to close the standards forcefully.
The Education Department said that the school had closed down standard from first to eighth while batches of 9th and 10th remained.
Pravin Kale, a parent, said that his daughter studied from nursery to 9th standard.
“She cannot study the syllabus of Central Board of Secondary Education. I have requested the school to give her an opportunity to study the State Board syllabus. The school was requested to call the parents meeting and take a decision. But, the school administration calling each parent separately ad asking them to collect the TC of their children. Students should not face academic loss,” he added.
Education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan said that the Maharashtra Public School had already closed first to eighth standards only 9th and 10th standards are being run. He said that the school was asked to wait for two years till the completion of the two batches.
