Aurangabad, Oct 19:

The initiative of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator A K Pandey seem to be motivating the enthusiasts in the city as a stretch of 300-metres between Kranti Chowk, and Osmanpura Circle has been painted as a cycle track.

The project ''Cycles4Change'' is an initiative of the union Government to encourage citizens of Smart Cities for bicycle riding. The aim is to develop a pollution-free environment. Hence the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) will be constructing the cycle tracks in the city. A stretch of a minimum of 5 km will be developed as a track. The ASCDCL and the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is interacting with bicycle enthusiasts and bicycle associations to create awareness and encourage people about using bicycles.

The bicyclist Nitin Ghorpade and his team today painted the 300-metres long stretch as a cycle track. The initiative will help create awareness amongst citizens about using bicycles, said Ghorpade, who is also a member of a committee constituted to implement the project.

The marking is done to guide the riders as well to alert others about the existence of the cycle track. The administrator appraised the initiative.
