MCVC Assn. demands filling of vacant posts to save academic loss of students

The Vocational Teachers Association (VTA) has urged the state government to fill up the vacant posts (of teachers and non-teachers) lying in the state's non-government institutes running Minimum Competency and Vocational Courses (MCVC). The VTA's state joint secretary Manohar Wankhede said, " In 40-50 percent societies the posts of teachers are lying vacant. They are responsible for teaching the syllabus and practicals to the students. However, the absence of adequate teachers is affecting the education system. As a result, the state government should grant permission to the institutes to fill up these vacant posts."

VTA in a memorandum to the Skill Development and Employment minister Nawab Malik has stated that thousands of students seek admission to MCVC, but a large number of teachers' posts are lying vacant in granted institutes/colleges running HSC Vocational Course. Besides, the figure increases as the teachers are retiring every month. The office of the Joint Director had sent the figures of vacant posts, three years ago, to the directorate, but no action has been taken in this regard.

The association also demanded to grant permission to fill up vacant posts of non-teaching staff in the state. They demanded that the government should issue its no-objection for the recruitment before starting the new academic year 2021-22. The memorandum was duly signed by Dr. Wankhede and faculties including Ramdas Gaikwad, Sanjay Jaiswal, Bhimsingh Rajput, Pramod Vyahalkar, Prakash Hamne, Pravin Padalkar, Mujeeb Siddiqui, M Ajaz, Naser Quadri, Shaikh Mansoor, Vijay Patil, and others.
