MIDC proposes two police station in Shendra-Bidkin DMIC

Aurangabad, Nov 4:

A proposal has been approved by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the construction of two police stations and residences for officers and staff in the Shendra and Bidkin industrial estates. The proposal has been sent to the director general of police for final approval, senior sources said.

A major phase of the central government''s ambitious Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) scheme is taking shape in Aurangabad. Infrastructure work began three year ago in the Shendra area. Development work will be carried out in three phases in Bidkin area. At present, the work of Shendra is nearing completion and work in the Bidkin area has gained momentum. Before the completion of this ambitious project, two separate police stations and residences for police officers and staff will also be constructed in this industrial area. The MIDC had sent a proposal to the superintendent of police''s office in this regard. The proposal was then sent to the DGP office for final approval. Accordingly, both the police stations at Chikalthana and Bidkin will be shifted to two industrial estates said the officials. In 2015, the city police had moved a proposal for extension of its jurisdiction and covering the Shendra-based MIDC, a five-star industrial area. Currently the area falls under the jurisdiction of Chikalthana police station of Aurangabad rural police.
