MJSP-Governor meeting turns fruitful

Maharashtra's Governor C P Radhakrishnan, in a meeting held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday, took a detailed understanding of the water issue in Marathwada. He gave a positive response to the delegation of Marathwada Jal Samruddhi Pratishthan (MJSP) regarding the water issue of the region and held discussions for about half an hour, informed the delegation.
The Governor has invited the MJSP delegation for discussion at Raj Bhavan on February 20. The MJSP through a presentation apprised him of the current situation of the water and issues related to it in Marathwada. The Governor positively responded after understanding the water issue and also accepted the memorandum, said a retired engineer and MJSP office-bearer Jaysingh Hire.
Later on, the Governor's secretary, Dr Prashant Narnavare, had a detailed discussion with the delegation for about two hours as per the Governor’s instructions. He was provided with in-depth information regarding how and from where water can be made available to Marathwada, the quantities, and the available government orders related to this matter, said Hire.
Pratishthan’s President Dr. Shankarrao Nagre, Secretary Ramakant Pulkundwar, and Jaysingh Hire attended the meeting.

Independent meeting on Jayakwadi water issue
The delegation drew the Governor's attention to the move made through the Godavari Study Group to cut off 7% of the water allocated for Marathwada and divert it to the upper part of the Jayakwadi project. In response, the Governor assured that an independent meeting would be called to address the water issue related to the Jayakwadi project, said the delegation.
