Mothers of special children honoured for inspiring journeys
Raising a specially-abled child is both challenging and inspiring. Recognizing their strength, Rajeshwari Kishor from Pune and Prachi Gurjar received the ‘Aarambh-Saksham’ Award for their exceptional contributions on Wednesday.
The Aarambh Organization for Autism and Differently-Abled Children honours one mother of a specially-abled child and one organization or individual supporting differently-abled people each year. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Indian Medical Association Hall by senior lawyer Adv Jyoti Patki and MACCIA women’s wing president Rajashree Kulkarni.
Stories of Strength and Impact
Rajeshwari Kishor, a mother of a special child, shared how she transformed personal struggles into a journey of resilience and empowerment.
Prachi Gurjar established an audio library with over 5,000 books for the visually impaired, creating a world of knowledge for those with limited access to reading materials.
Special Children’s Tribute Through Dance
A group of 20 specially-abled children from Aarambh performed a heartfelt dance, depicting a mother’s multifaceted role a nurturer, protector, and warrior in a child’s life.
The event celebrated the indomitable spirit of mothers who rise above challenges, proving that every struggle can be a source of inspiration.
