Motorcyclist snatched jewellery of old woman after giving lift
Aurangabad, Feb 18:
A motorcyclist beat a pedestrian woman and snatched her
jewellery by offering her lift on AS Club – Link Road on Thursday at around
3.30 pm.
According to the details, Kusumbai Shinde (60, name
changed), a resident of Gangapur tehsil was going to meet her relatives at
Kanchanwadi on Thursday at around 3 pm. When she was walking on AS Club – Link
Road, a red coloured motorcycle came near her and offered her lift. During
conversation he told her that he is a resident of Chauka in Phulambri tehsil
and he can give her lift. Kusumbai was convinced and sat on his motorcycle.
However, after going to some distance he changed the route. She was afraid and
she jumped from the motorcycle. He told her that his wife and other family
members are working in the farm, he will meet them and then he will take her to
Kanchanwadi. She refused to sit on the motorcycle again and started leaving the
spot. The unknown person manhandled her and snatched her gold chain and
earrings. He then fled away from the scene. Kusumbai started screaming for
help. One commuter stopped near her and informed the police about the incident.
PI Madhukar Sawant, API Gautam Wawale, PSI Satish Pandit, constable Vinod
Pardeshi implemented Nakabandi on the AS Club – Link road to nab the accused,
but could not find him. A case has been registered at the Waluj MIDC police
station.
