Aurangabad, Nov 30:

Rajya Sabha MP, Bhagwat Karad, has informed that the proposals of six railway overbridges (RoBs) in the city have been approved, while the survey of new train route Ahmednagar-Pune has also been approved and its survey will start in December. The MP underlined that the proposals including survey of three train routes and new RoBs in the city. were made to the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MRIDC) and it had been approved recently.

The train routes which are approved are Aurangabad-Ahmednagar-Pune; Dhule to Chalisgaon and Kopargaon to Rotegaon. Meanwhile, the new RoBs will be built at Nagar Naka, Sharnapur Railway Gate, Deogiri College to MCED Office and Beed Bypass, apart from the underpass at Shivajinagar Gate and Mukundwadi. All works are approved.

The construction of new RoB at Sharnapur Gate and new train routes were long-pending demands. Hence the board of directors (BoDs) okayed them and ordered to start RoB works along with the survey of new routes. The train routes will be developed with the contribution of MRIDC, the state government and the union Ministry of Railways (MOR), it is learnt.

In a letter to Karad, the MRIDC public relations officer Vineet Toke, has stated that the detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared after completion of the survey of all works. The Department of Railways will approve the DPRs.
