Ignoring the symptoms of corona and delaying timely treatment causes corona to reach the rapid progression stage. This poses a challenge to prevent post covid comorbidity and the death of the victim. So do not try self-medication. Immediate diagnosis and treatment is the only solution, said the head of the Department of Pharmacology, Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya.

Speaking to this newspaper, Dr Bhattacharya said, "The oxygen level in the body of an infected patient is less than 88 per cent at the time of admission. This is said to be the rapid progression stage. Such patients have symptoms for 3 to 7 days, but the delay in taking treatment causes the infection to spread in their lungs rapidly. Such patients are still coming in large numbers for treatment. These patients have a low rate of improvement, even after 10 to 30 days of treatment. Or even if the condition improves, they have to deal with post-covid comorbidity. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose and treat the lung infection before it progresses," Bhattacharya said. After recovering from Covid-19, patients started coming to the hospital with comorbidities. Early diagnosis can prevent increased lung infection, she said. The number of covid negative patients is increasing. This has led to the need to see if the pathogenesis of the coronavirus has been reduced. The number of critically ill patients is still high in the government hospital. Despite having pneumonia similar to corona, his RTPCR test is coming back negative. It is also essential to understand whether the pathogenesis of the virus or the viral load of the virus has decreased, said Dr Bhattacharya.
