Aurangabad, Oct 19:

Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has launched a drive against traders and residents using plastic bags from last year. Fine was recovered from the traders and residents using plastic bags. On Monday, Rs 5,000 fine was slapped on an officer for using plastic wrapper during the ‘Disha’ committee meeting chaired by union minister, Raosaheb Danve.

MPs, MLAs, district collector Sunil Chavan and AMC administrator Astik Kumar Pandey and others were present. Project Director, District Rural Development Machinery, brought books wrapped in plastic to gift it to the dignitaries. Pandey noticed it and directed the Civil Friends Team to take action against the concerned officer and impose a fine.

Similarly, three residents and employees wandering without masks at the district collectorate were imposed Rs 500 fine each. The action was executed under the guidance of Solid Waste Management Cell chief, Nandkishor Bhombe.
