Aurangabad, Dec 22:

The ''Love Aurangabad'' display set up in front of the Nehru statue in the cantonment area was smashed by a drunkard on Monday night. Meanwhile, the Chawni police arrested Vishnu Kale (Tofkhana), on Tuesday morning.

The municipal corporation has set up art installation displays in the city under the smart city project. A similar display has been set up in front of the statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the cantonment area. Meanwhile, on Monday night, Kale who was under the influence of alcohol broke the display. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning. Immediately rumours spread that art installations in other parts of the city were also broken. Therefore, the police immediately inspected the displays set up at various places and increased security around the installations. Senior police officials also inspected the displays in the city. Some people had tried to raise the issue of Aurangabad and Sambhajinagar after a ''Super Sambhajinagar'' display was put up in the TV Center Chowk. The municipal commissioner himself had clarified that there was no fact in the dispute. However, Commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta himself said that the youth who smashed the display was intoxicated. Under the influence, he broke the display at night. He denied any political angle to the incident.
