Aurangabad, Jan 28:

The Maratha Kranti Morcha today staged an agitation in front of the divisional commissionerate to demand the expulsion of minister Vijay Wadettiwar, who said that the state backward classes commission’s report, based on which the Maratha reservation was given, was bogus.

The members said that while speaking at a rally of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Jalna, Wadettiwar said that the commission’s report was unscientific. He alleged that the State Backward Classes Commission, which had given SEBC reservation to the Maratha community, was bogus. The state government set up the commission within the framework of the law. The commission toured the state and studied the plight of the Maratha community, highlighted the backwardness in the report and recommended reservation for the community. The report of the commission was accepted by the then state government and Maratha reservation was declared. As per the constitutional provision, the Maratha community has got reservation by law. Minister Wadettiwar is making different statements on how the reservation of the Maratha community will not last. On behalf of Maratha Kranti Morcha, an agitation was held in front of the divisional commissionerate today demanding removal of the minister from the cabinet. Suresh Wakde, Kishore Chavan, Manoj Gaike, Ankat Chavan, Satish Vetal, Sukanya Bhosale, Rekha Vahtule and others participated in the agitation.
