Aurangabad, Jan 30:

As many as 11,154 candidates took the first paper of Ph D Entrance Test (PET) on January 30.

It may be noted that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is conducting PET after a gap of four years for the Ph D admissions in 42 subjects.

The registration began on January 1 and completed on January 20. A total of 11,669 candidates registered. The mock test was carried out from January 27 to 29. The first paper was held from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday. The result will be declared on February 1. Those who will qualify will be able to apply for the second paper to conducted on February 21.

The result of the second paper will be announced on February 24. The mark sheet of both the papers will be available after the declaration of the results.

The university is likely to public subject-wise availability of seats in March. Those who were exempted from PET will be allowed to register from March for further process.

Candidates who have qualified NET, SET, GATE, GPAT, M Phil, or five years of teaching experience are given exemption from the PET.

Director of Board of Examination and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil said that the eligible candidates would be called for presentation of their research proposal before the Research and Recognition Committee (RRC) in April month.
