Aurangabad, Oct 21:

If all goes well, the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) has geared up to restore operations of Smart City Bus service from November 1. Meanwhile, the ASCDCL''s additional chief executive officer (CEO) Arun Shinde confirmed that public transport service would start from next month.

It is observed that the citizens are presently dependent upon autorickshaws or private transport, due to the absence of public transport (bus). The State Transport had also resumed the operations of its buses, a few days ago. Hence people were waiting for smart buses to ply again.

Shinde said, " We have geared up to start the operations of bus services. We are waiting to get approval from ASCDCL CEO and municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey. The buses will start to run in the city from November 1. We have 90 buses, and they will ply on roads in three phases. The passengers should avail the services and enjoy concessions offered under various schemes in large numbers."

Shinde also mentioned procuring e-ticketing machines so that the passengers could get the ticket immediately. " The machine after issuing a ticket to passengers on-board intimates the main server. It helps to know the revenue collection at any moment along with the number of passengers travelled, so far. ASCDCL had erected 55 bus shelters in the city and constructed foundations of 90 shelters. Hence the work is in progress," he mentioned.
