Aurangabad, June 19:

The number of admitted Covid patients in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has come down below 100 on Saturday, for the first time after four months.

The second wave of the pandemic virus started in February while patients figure increased since March. The patients occupied all the beds at the building of Superspecialy Bloc and Medicin Department.

At one time, two patients were being treated on a bed in Casualty Department because of the tremendous rise in their number in the city.

Nearly 600 patients were undergoing treatment simultaneously. The effect of the virus is declining in the city for the past one month. The number of patients too come down much.

This resulted in reducing admitted patients ratio in the Government Hospital.

Currently, 95 patients of the pandemic virus are undergoing treatment in the GMCH.

Medical superintendent Dr Suresh Harbade said only wards had patients because of the decline in their figure. Of them, condition of 83 is stated to be critical.
