Pipeline burst leaves old city without water
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
An air valve on a 1,200 mm diameter water pipeline supplying the city dislodged at Pharola on Paithan Road at around 6.40 pm on Friday. Following the incident, water supply from the Pharola pump house was immediately shut down. The pipeline will be emptied, and repair work is expected to begin late at night.
Meanwhile, water supply to the Cidco–Hudco areas will continue, as water has been diverted through an express pipeline using 700 mm and 900 mm diameter pipelines
However, residents in the old city will have to face water scarcity. The water supply section has announced that the scheduled supply cycle in the old city has been postponed by one day.
