Police recruitment aspirants sleep in open as accommodation falls short at SRPF Camp, Satara

With police constable recruitment underway from February 11 at the SRPF campus in the Satara area, aspirants arriving from across the state for 5 am physical tests were forced to spend the night in the open due to inadequate accommodation.
Many slept on the ground opposite the camp, while others stayed at Sai temple, in nearby areas, in campus parking spaces, and inside makeshift tents behind tea stalls. Though the police commissioner’s office had announced lodging at Ramchandra Hall near MIT College and at Shaurya Shraddha Lawns on the Dhule–Solapur highway, the distant location deterred many candidates. At Ramchandra Hall, 18 rooms were arranged at Rs 200 per head with bedding, while several aspirants failed to locate Shaurya Shraddha Lawns, leading to low occupancy there.
