Aurangabad, Jan 18:

Justice P R Bora Enquiry Committee gave a clean chit to the appointment of three statutory officers of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.

It may be noted the university appointed various statutory officers including registrar and director of Board of Examination and Evaluation (BoEE) in March 2020. Dr Shankar Ambhore, the members of the Management Council members Dr Rajesh Karpe and Dr Fulchand Salampure, Dr Umakant Rathod, Nagraj Gaikwad (Marathwada president, Youth Wing of Republican Party India-(A), members of Marathwada Vidyapeeth Bachav Kriti Samit and Subhash Borikar took objections to the appointment of three officers-registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi, director of BoEE Dr Yogesh Patil and Dean of Commerce and Management Science faculty Dr Walmik Sarwade.

They also submitted complaints against the officers over their experience and eligibility to the post. The university appointed a committee led by Justice (retd) P R Bora in October. The panel examined various documents and took hearing of the officers. After the probe, the committee submitted its report to the administration two days ago. All three statutory officers were given a clean chit in the report.

Meanwhile, the report was tabled in the Management Council meeting held on Monday. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole chaired the meeting.

The discussions were held over the report whether to accept it or not. A total of six members including Sanjay Nimbalkar, Dr Rajesh Karpe, Dr Fulchand Salampure rejected the report while seven were in favour of accepting it.

The members also demanded to appoint another committee. Registrar Dr Suryavanshi was not present for the meeting.

Commenting on this Sanjay Nimbalkar said that it is our democratic right to accept it or not.

“If the committee has not approved evidence provided by us, so, how can we accept its report,” he added.

Chancellor nominated MC member Kishor Shitole said that some members rejected the report without reading it and citing no reason.

“Report rejection is very unfortunate. Those who are rejecting it have not read the references given in the probe by justice (retd) of High Court,” he added.
