Raise public issues effectively and strengthen the organisation;

Party chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday advised the newly elected Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members of his faction to effectively raise public issues in local self-government bodies and work towards strengthening the party organisation. The instructions were given during a meeting held at his residence Matoshree in Mumbai.

Newly elected Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members from the district met Thackeray at Matoshree on February 21, where he interacted with them. Former leader of opposition in the legislative council Ambadas Danve and party leader Subhash Desai were also present on the occasion.

Nine members from the faction were elected in the recently held Zilla Parishad elections, while the party secured limited success in the Panchayat Samiti polls. Thackeray instructed the elected representatives to raise public issues effectively in the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, accelerate development works and further strengthen the party organisation, Danve informed.

He also assured the party chief that efforts would be made to reinforce the party structure and convey its ideology and policies to the people through the newly elected members.
