A grand Ram Navami procession organised by the International Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal was taken out from Kranti Chowk on Thursday night.
The star attraction a replica of the Ramlalla idol from Ayodhya's Ram Mandirdrew massive crowds, with youth thronging to click selfies before it. Chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' echoed throughout the route. The procession, which began at around 8 pm, passed through Paithan Gate and Gulmandi before concluding with an aarti at Amruteshwar Ram Mandir in Kumharwada. One quintal of boondi was distributed along the route. Large participation of women and youth was a highlight of the evening. Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Anil Makariye, IHP's Deogiri Pradesh Secretary Jagannath Jadhav, Bajrang Dal's Deogiri Pradesh President Subhash Mokaria, and other office-bearers were present.
