Aurangabad, Sept 24: The Corona patients at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) reached the record-breaking figure of maximum patients until now on Thursday.
On Thursday, the number of patients admitted at GMCH reached 509, including 143 negative and 13 suspects. In all, 356 patients are Corona positive, and the condition of 123 patients is normal. Presently, 356 positive patients are being treated, of which 230 are serious, the administration informed.
All these patients are being treated at the building of the Medicine, super specialty and surgical departments. The number of patients is increasing day by day at GMCH. Patients from various places of Marathwada region are admitted here. The number of maximum patients was highest on Thursday so far, informed dean Dr Kanan Yelikar.
The patients from rural areas and private hospitals are referred to GMCH, but GMCH cannot refer any patient to other hospital. Hence, it has gained acclamation as the ‘Mother Institute’. It is shouldering the responsibility to treat each patient admitted, the doctors said.
The Corona patients suffer from breathing problems, and they have to administer oxygen artificially. The sources said there are in all 284 patients on oxygen at GMCH and 68 serious patients on ventilators.
