Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Thursday appointed two deans, while two posts remained with remarks ‘not found suitable.

It may be noted that the university intensified its recruitment process for statutory officers and teaching staff. Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar said interviews for four dean posts were conducted between May 4 and May 7, with 24 candidates appearing. A total of 31 eligible candidates had been shortlisted for the posts.

Dr Bhaskar Sathe and Dr Vaishali Khaparde were appointed dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, respectively. No candidate was found suitable for the two posts of deans of Humanities and Commerce and Management Studies.

3 directors appointed

Applications have been invited for nine statutory officer posts, and interviews for several positions have already been completed. Interviews for the post of Dharashiv sub-campus director were held on April 21, followed by the director of Lifelong Learning on April 23 and the director of Innovation and Incubation on April 27. Six, 17 and four candidates respectively appeared for these posts.

A total of three directors were selected today. They are Dr Abhay Solankhe (Director, Dharashiv Sub-Campus), Dr Ashwin Ranjanikar (Director, Lifelong Learning Department), and Dr H T Jadhav (Director, Innovation and Incubation Department).

Interview for registrar’s post on May 22

The post of registrar has remained vacant since October 10, 2022, following the resignation of Dr Jayshree Suryavanshi. The university has announced the final list of eligible candidates for the posts of director of the Knowledge Resource Centre and registrar. Interviews for these posts are scheduled to be held on May 12 and May 22, respectively. For the past four years, Dr Bhagwan Sakhale and Dr Prashant Amrutkar have been handling the additional charge of registrar. A full-time registrar will now be selected through interviews scheduled on May 22. A total of eight candidates have been declared eligible for the post.
