Saint Eknath taught compassion and social equality: Balu Maharaj Girgaonkar

Balu Maharaj Girgaonkar said Sant Eknath exemplified compassion and social equality. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 10-acre ‘Arch Shivkunj’ project and the pran pratishtha of Shri Shivanand Dham Temple in Limbejalgaon along the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Pune highway.

The occasion coincided with Eknath Shashthi, the death anniversary of Sant Eknath, who took jal samadhi in the Godavari River at Paithan, where lakhs of Warkaris gather annually about 1,200 devotees attended the program. The project offers 700–1,500 sq ft residential plots and includes infrastructure such as cement roads, street lights, drainage, and power supply, along with amenities like a jogging track, open gym, kids’ play area, gardens, and an amphitheatre. The project was guided by Dr. Sushil Bharuka, Rajesh Bharuka, Paras Chordiya, and Archit Bharuka, temple keys were handed to the village committee, with developers announcing one year of expense support.
