Aurangabad, Feb 28:

The number of active patients in the district has reached around 2000 now. As a result, the private hospitals are filled with patients and the patients have to search for beds in hospitals for treatment.

A few days, the Corona active patients in the district came down to around 100. However, the severity has increased and in just few days of February, the number of patients reached around 2000. The non-Covid patients were not treated in the hospitals for the past one year. However, the affairs of the private hospitals were regularized as usual as the impact of Corona reduced. Now, the hospitals have to treat the Covid patients along with the non-Covid patients. The beds in the hospitals are inadequate. The relatives of the Corona patients have to search for beds and ventilators wandering from hospital to hospital. Preference is given to admit the patients at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Presently, there are 177 actives Corona patients at GMCH, of which the condition of 85 patients is serious.

The president of the Marathwada Hospitals Association, Dr Himanshu Gupta, said, the number of patients is increasing and hence there is a dearth of beds in the hospitals. Earlier, there were no non-Covid patients and hence the beds were available. The situation is similar in all the hospitals, he said.
