The first round of admissions was implemented in 82 government and 51 private Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in all the eight districts of Marathwada for 19,344 seats fifteen days ago. Only 3, 584 admissions have been confirmed in this round. However, further admissions have been postponed due to the issue of Maratha reservation.
According to sources in the regional office of vocational education and training, no instructions have been received from the government regarding the second or subsequent admission round. Over the last few years, the trend of students from rural areas towards ITI courses has increased. Already on the backdrop of corona, this year’s tenth class results came late. Alternatively, the admission process of ITI was also delayed. The admission process for ITI was started immediately after the results of class X were announced.
The students applied online accordingly. The first round of admissions took place a fortnight ago. Out of the total 19,344 seats in all the eight districts, admission has been fixed for 3, 584 seats according to merit. Admission rounds will be implemented for another 15,760 seats. However, the schedule has not been received yet.
According to reliable sources, the issue of Maratha reservation is on the agenda, hence the next rounds may have been postponed. Meanwhile, the students are keeping an eye on when the next round of ITI admission process will start.
