Silent ‘Public Outrage’ March in Paithan over minor girl’s abduction

In the backdrop of the abduction of a minor girl on February 25, a massive silent ‘Jan Aakrosh’ (public outrage) march was organised on Sunday at 11 am by the Sakal Hindu Samaj.

The march began from the Khandoba temple area in the city. Notably, no provocative slogans were raised, and restraint was maintained throughout. Saints, religious leaders, kirtankars, preachers, students and women from both urban and rural parts of Paithan participated in large numbers, carrying placards. They appealed to parents to monitor their children and urged strict adherence to law. The girl is currently in police custody and legal procedures are underway. Protesters demanded a fair investigation and strict action against the accused. Tight police security was maintained under the guidance of sub-divisional police officer Sunil Patil and police inspector Mahadev Gomare.
