SSC, HSC students over practical exams, actual classes
Aurangabad, March 7:
Students of SSC and HSC and their parents are worried about the decision of suspending actual classes in schools and colleges with the implementation of partial lockdown in the city between March 11 and April 4.
The actual classes for the 10th and 12th started in rural areas on November 23 and the city from January 4. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The students of HSC will take their examinations from April 23 to May 21 while the duration of SSC examinations between April 29 to May 20.
The syllabus was completed online in many schools and junior colleges. However, it is a different thing how many students benefitted from it. Nearly 30 per cent of students attended online classes.
The percentage of attendance for actual classes increased up to 70 pc. The students and parents are worried about the practical examination, remaining syllabus and theory examinations with the rise in patients.
Education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan said that online classes would continue during the lockdown period as per the talks held with the district collector.
“Schools, private coaching institutes were not allowed to conduct classes. So, actual classes of 10th and 12th will be suspended, but online classes will continue,” he added.
There are 65,011 students of SSC in the district, while 55,177 are HSC candidates.
