SSC’s first paper conducted without malpractice

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education commenced on Friday. The first Marathi paper was held peacefully across all examination centres.

Seating arrangements were made for 69,530 students at 240 examination centres across the district. Secondary education officer Ashwini Lathkar and board chairman Anil Sable stated that the examinations were conducted smoothly at all centres.

As it was the first day of the examination, parents accompanied students to the centres. Many gathered to check their children’s hall numbers, prompting police to step in to clear the premises after the examination began.

Students arrived at the centres well in advance to complete identity verification, material checks and other formalities before entering the examination halls. A slight sense of anxiety, big dreams in their eyes and a strong desire for success were evident among the students.

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, special teams led by senior officials visited various centres, including five sensitive examination centres. Last year, the district had 23 such sensitive centres.

To ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the examination, CCTV cameras were installed at the centres for monitoring. District collector Deelip Swami had also led a month-long campaign to ensure malpractice-free examinations. Monitoring of select examination halls was carried out from the education department’s war room through special teams, informed SSC board chairman Anil Sable.
