Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The construction of a Transit Treatment Centre (TTC) for the protection and treatment of wildlife in the Daulatabad area has reached its final stage and is likely to become operational soon. The facility will provide immediate care to injured, sick, or stray wild animals, significantly strengthening wildlife protection.

Four modern units, a carnivore section, herbivore section, hospital, and post-mortem room have been constructed exclusively for wildlife. Overall project work has reached around 80 to 100 per cent completion.

According to officials, while the main construction is 100 per cent complete, internal facilities are about 80 per cent ready. The centre will be handed over only after the remaining suggested modifications are completed, as per expert committee recommendations.

Once operational, the TTC will ensure prompt medical care, safe shelter, and scientific treatment for wildlife, contributing to conservation efforts.

Forest range officer Nikhil Deshmukh said the centre will greatly aid wildlife protection and treatment. Branch engineer Anil Holkar added that minor improvements suggested by a Nagpur-based wildlife medical team are underway, and inauguration will take place only after these are completed.
