Students’ presence increased on second day in rural areas

As many as 2010 schools started classes for the students from class fifth to class eighth from Wednesday in the district. On Thursday, the number of schools opened reached 2148 while 20 schools in the rural areas could not be started yet. On the second day, a total of students present in the schools were 74,837 which was much more than the number of students present on the first day 18,897. Moreover, the reports of around 1000 teachers are awaited while six teachers have been found infected so far, informed the education department.

There are 2218 schools in the district of which 2168 conducts the classes between fifth and eight. In all, 2,20,783 students are enrolled in these classes. On the first day on Wednesday, 55,939 students were present in 2010 schools while 74,837 students were present in total 2148 schools on Thursday. On the first day, 62,544 parents signed the consent letters and on Thursday the number increased to 76,843. Out of the 7,806 teachers, the tests of 7136 teachers have been completed while reports of 6143 teachers have been received. Six teachers were found infected and presently they are being treated, informed education officer Surajprasad Jaiswal.

Similarly, the schools for the students between class sixth and eighth started from Wednesday. However, the statistics about the students were not available.
