Aurangabad, July 19:

The tentative date of the Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted for the admissions to the 11th class for the academic year 2021-22 was announced on Monday.

The CET will be held on August 21, will be optional.

It may be noted the State Government cancelled the examinations of SSC for the safety of students in Covid situation and decided to prepare the result on the basis of 9th standard performance and internal marks of 10th standard.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on July 16 declared the SSC. The State recorded a passing percentage of 99.95 per cent, the highest ever in its history.

The State Government had announced before the result that CET would be conducted. The tentative date of the test is August 21. Candidates will have to put option if he/she wish to appear for the CET or not. The registration will commence on July 20.

A total of 15.75 lakh fresh students had registered while 15.74 lakh of them were declared successful. The passing percentage is 99.95, which is 4.65 per cent more than last year.

Meanwhile, a five-member committee was set up to implement the admission process. It will be led by the commissioner of the Education Department.
